Jordan and Demi’s engagement session at The Cape Florida Lighthouse Miami Florida, was just as magical as their love story. Read this story by bride Demi.
The Story
So we are actually family friends, that have known each other for most of our lives. We actually had a crush on each other when we were like 8-9 years old. Then we didn’t see each other for a few years and we met up again in high school (we went to different schools) … it was an instant connection and we’ve been together ever since. It will be our 10 year anniversary on August 5.
Over years of being together, the love was just there. It was a natural and deep love for each other. I was/am Jordan’s first girlfriend, and he says that ever since we were kids he never liked anyone else.
The Proposal
So the proposal… it was MAGICAL. His birthday is February 18th, so his mom and I started planning a surprise party. I didn’t realize I was planning my own engagement party, inviting all of our friends and family. I even got our friends to send in clips of them wishing him a happy birthday and then got a friend of ours to compile the videos.
Well at the end, Jordan came on the screen and asked his siblings and parents to help him plan a party, he looked at the camera and said “Surprise”… a ton of pictures of us over the years started passing through the video and then you hear his voice over saying.. “Demi, I always knew it was you.. our story goes back way more than 10 years and it will last the rest of our lifetime.
I’m sure life still has a lot left to teach us, but we’ve already got so much figured out. Let’s always be the first ones on the dance floor, let’s always be the fastest down the mountain, I can’t wait to laugh with you for the rest of my life… I love you” NO ONE KNEW. It was a surprise to EVERYONE except his mom, siblings, and our friend who helped make the video. It was awesome.
