It was March 2017. We had mutual friends in common and over the span of a couple of weeks, we kept bumping into each other but not officially meeting
It was then one night when our friends decided to go ice skating together is where we finally caught on. I was terrible at skating, so he offered me his arm and stayed by my side the whole time. I must admit, it was cute. He was a true gentleman. We spent the rest of the night talking and laughing. (Mostly about how bad my skating skills were.) Ever since that connection, we’ve been inseparable!
I was already pretty infatuated with him that night we went ice skating, but like I mentioned, we became inseparable very quickly. We were always so excited to see each other and hated having to leave one another. We have only been together for three years but it feels like so much longer. Though at the same time, it has gone by so fast. We found love, acceptance, and comfort in one another and I can’t imagine not having him in my life. I truly believe God sent us to be together. He’s my best friend.
He actually proposed to me on my birthday. A little cheesy, but so sweet. He asked me to marry him in the same place he asked me to be his girlfriend the year before. A park with a beautiful view of the river on a perfect day. Afterward, he confessed to me that he was planning for a different day but the moment just seemed right. And it was, I’ll never forget it.
